Troop Reports
AK-2018 Palmer
The Palmer troop was blessed to have the Eagle River Troop AK-0226 join us on our October campout. The 1st picture in front of the cross is a group photo of both troops. Eagle River on the left and Palmer on the right. The boys had fun with each other, even though it rained or drizzled the whole time. The last picture was from the parking lot looking over the field. The Eagle River tents are in the foreground and Palmer is in the background.
The 2nd picture is of us doing a lesson on "teamwork" showing how one person may not be able to lift someone in a chair, but with teamwork they can. There were several other fun things theyΒ did to Β illustrate teamwork as well. In the 3rd photo the boys were doing community service. They were cutting and hauling brush from one of the local parks in the nearby City of Palmer.
This was the first campout for our younger boys so we had it at the church to see how they would do. Everyone did great, had a good time, and stayed warm even though it did not stop raining until after everyone packed up and left on Sunday.
Walk Worthy!
AK-1001 Kodiak
Kodiak has had a busy Fall time starting with an open house BBQ at the Kodiak Baptist Mission.
We then learned about knots, lashing, salmon, and prayer.
We even found some time to do some beach camping.
AK-1412 North Pole
This month our troop completed our first quarter service project at KJMP radio station.Β Our trailmen helped clean up the station grounds, stack firewood, cover the stations many roofs with plastic sheeting in preparation for winter.Β
The troop also participated in the See You at the Pole prayer event.Β
Our Woodland Trails went on a scenic hike of Ester Dome in order to compete their Hit-The-Trail requirement for Sports and Fitness.
The Adventurer Patrol completed a challenging nighttime land navigation backpacking trip of Granite Tors trail through fresh snow.
Tips from the Trail
Get ready for Black Friday sales at the Trail Life Store. This is a great time to stock up on uniforms, handbooks, and other staple items for your troop. You can start collecting an order from your families now, or just work with your patrols to see whatβs needed and fill your own gear house.
